Sung-Yun Kwon, Ph.D. Founder & CEO

Dr. Kwon is a materials scientist and technology founder with expertise spanning metallurgy, computational materials science, and AI/ML-driven materials discovery. His work focuses on rare earth elements and permanent magnet materials, with extensions to semiconductor and battery materials critical to advanced manufacturing and supply-chain resilience.

Dr. Kwon integrates generative machine learning, graph neural networks, and high-throughput DFT simulation to accelerate materials discovery and optimization. He leads TheraJect’s research and platform development, building U.S.-based innovation frameworks and international collaborations, including U.S.–Korea research partnerships.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Kwon led federally and philanthropically supported technology programs funded by the NIH, NSF, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, culminating in successful technology licensing. This experience informs TheraJect’s disciplined approach to translating advanced research into deployable technologies.

John Suh, Ph.D. Chief AI Scientist & Strategic Advisor

Dr. John Suh is an AI and data science leader specializing in applied machine learning, predictive modeling, and AI-driven innovation across academia and industry. He serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Program in Applied Data Science and in the Department of Computer Engineering at San José State University (SJSU) in Silicon Valley.

Dr. Suh has led high-impact AI initiatives translating cutting-edge research into scalable, production-grade systems in medical imaging, predictive healthcare analytics, and intelligent decision-support platforms. His expertise spans causal inference, time-series predictive modeling, optimization algorithms, and AI system deployment in regulated environments.

At TheraJect, Dr. Suh leads AI strategy and advanced analytics initiatives focused on AI-driven materials discovery, including predictive modeling for rare-earth synthesis and advanced magnetic materials design. His work integrates machine learning with experimental science to accelerate next-generation materials innovation and build globally competitive U.S.–Korea R&D collaborations.
